AP Calc AB: Unit 1 Resources - Limits and Continuity

Class - as I mentioned the first day of class, as a high school student and soon-to-be college student, your success depends on you taking responsibility for your success, and being your own advocate when it comes to getting assistance.

The material here on my blog is not required content - it is here for you to use as you need it. To raise your grade you often need to consume more content, complete more practice problems, striving to understand more deeply concepts we study. The more effort you put forth, the more the content will fit together and begin to make sense. It is not easy work for sure. But success is never easy in the academic and professional arena.

For our first unit in AP Calculus AB, "Limits and Continuity", here are some activities you can use to get better.

MathXL

Khan Academy
  1. Intro to the Concept of Limits (9:05)his is your starting point if you're confused about limits. This is an important video - it really sets the stage for what in the world "differential calculus" is all about. Mr. Khan uses Usain Bolt to explain graphically and numerically average speed versus instantaneous speed.
  2. Intro to Limits - More Technical (11:31):  Mr. Khan gives a more technical introduction of limits here.
  3. Older Intro to Limits (7:38): Mr. Khan's older video on limits.

Professor Rob
  1. YouTube Calculus Page - Videos 1 through 6 pertain to our concepts in this unit.
